<p style="text-align: left;"><span style="color: #000000;">Fat is a Macronutrient, so by definition this means we need a certain percentage of our diet to consist of Fat!  So that you can better understand this statement let me provide two definitions, <strong>Nutrient</strong> and <strong>Macronutrient</strong>:</span></p>
<p style="text-align: left;"><span style="color: #000000;"><strong>Nutrient<em> (definition) -</em></strong>a chemical that an organism needs to live and grow or a substance used in an organism&#8217;s metabolism which must be taken in from its environment.  Nutrients are the substances that enrich the body (Wikipedia, 2010).</span></p>
<p style="text-align: left;"><span style="color: #000000;"><strong>Macronutrient</strong> <strong><em>(definition) -</em></strong>Nutrients needed in large quantities (Wikipedia, 2010).</span></p>
