The Training Genius – Advantages of Having a Customized Training Program

Many of my clients begin by asking me what kind of training program will work best for them.

In order to answer that question we go through a process of defining their goals and assessing their current health condition.

The next step is to design a customized program that considers their current condition and accelerates them toward their goals.  3 of the many advantages of this process are:

Increases confidence.
Reduces the likelihood of injury.
Achieves goals faster.

Those are just a few of the advantages.

Do your have your own customized training program? Why not?

P.S. Let me know how you decide which workout programs to use.

    Chris great question!

I have a few questions and some advise:

    - how many days a week is he working out?

Many people workout too much. Remember that when you are working out you are tearing down muscle. Your muscle then rebuilds itself while you rest. If he is working out too much he is not allowing his muscles to rebuild themselves.

    - has he accutally counted the # of calories he is consuming and burning in a day?

If not I would suggest going to http://www.sparkpeople.com. This is a free site where he can find out if he is burning more calories than he is burning.

If he is burning more calories than he is talking in, he will not gain weight. If he is taking in more calories than he’s bunring he will gain weight this formula is simple. So He needs to know this answer.

    - Does he take any recovery supplementation such as Branch Chain Amino Acids?

Branch chains help to synthesize muscle. If these Branch Chains are in his system then they will be in his system and availble post workout when his body needs them. Therefor he will recover form a workout much quicker.

Also, go to http://www.myapex.com they make a product called the Bodybugg. I used the Bodybugg to put on 10 lbs. of lean muscle a few years ago. The Bodybugg actually tells you the exact amount of calories you burn. Its unbelievable! They have a food logging program with it that records your food consumption. So he would be able to see if he is actually consuming more calories than he is taking in. It takes away 100% of the guessing game. Check your email for Free Update # 1 it is from the Bodybugg group. It talks about Calorie intake and shows a little bit about the Bodybugg program.

The last thing I would look at is his training program. In your response give me an outline of his training program.

    Thanks for our question.
